Hospital

Yukima and Dan come to the hospital, Dan is wiping away his tears.

Yukima hops out of the car waiting for Dan to get out.

Dan gets out of the car as he finishes wiping his tears away heading for the Employee door "My eyes are blurry, open it with the blue key marked BE"

She presses the key and they both go in and she looks back at him. "Which room?"

"Third floor room 342" That door lead right into an elevator

They take the elevator up and run to his room going inside and sees him laying there several tubes running around him and walks over to him sittting beside him. "Benji baby, can you hear me?"

Benji is on oxygen as a few doctors are around and one gently takes your arm "I'm sorry miss, no visitors are allowed at the moment." Dan walks over to the doctor "Dr Sentori, this is Yukima, she is married to this man and I am his brother." Dr. Sentori "Our records dont indicate "Dan interrupts "You dont want me to report you to Head of Staff do you?" He looks at the other doctors and they leave for now.
Benji is hooked up to a few different monitors and his heartbeat sounds erradict.

She holds his hand in hers and laces their fingers together resting her head on his arm. "I'm sorry Benny...I'm so sorry..." Tears runs down her face and hit his hand.

He opens up his eyes but they look blank and glossed over.
Out in the hallway Dan talks to the doctors "How is my brother?" One doctor "Well....We did what we could, but it seems he lost his eye sight. We dont know if its temporary blindness or permanent, hes deaf in his right ear as well. There is an operation" Dan "I know the operation, get on with it already!!!" Dr "We think he might be paralyzed as well." Dan just goes pale from all this and the doctor helps him to a seat so he can sit down

"Benji...listen to me...I love you...I love you more than my life itself...I don't know how you'll handle this...but I'm pregnant...with your baby." Kisses your hand gently.

Benji hears a muffled sound out of his left ear and feels a kiss on his right side so he turns his head to the right and gives a smile "Is that you Kimmy?" He doesnt blink

She smiles weakly as tears roll down her cheeks and gets up leaning over him and kisses him deeply and passionately and then leans against his ear talking a little louder than usual. "Baby you're gonna be fine. I swear it." She kisses his cheek again and lets go of his hand walking towards Dan.

Benji "I dont feel like drinking wine right now Kimmy."
Dan is sitting out in the hallway with Colt. Dan has his face buried in his hands bawling and Colt is trying to comfort him.

She walks out there and looks at Dan. "I'm helping with the operation. So get a hold of yourself and get your ass in gear."

He looks over at you "Against hospital policies for a doctor to perform surgery on family members...." Dan looks more pale then an eggshell

"Do you have a copy of company policy?" She reaches into her pants pocket for her wallet and pulls out a card and picks up her cell dialing the number and walks off in the opposite direction talking rapidly through the phone.

Dan sits there "I read them all....I know the policies....Cant be changed"

She comes back and closes her cell. "Just was. Get to the OR stat. You've got a team waiting for you plus a renowned surgent who will be here within the next three hours."

Yukima sees Squall down the hall come out of his room and down the hall going around the corner as Dan gets up and heads to the OR to quickly to be stopped

Yukima sighs and looks over at Colt. "What happened exactly?"

"Its my fault, we were arguing and he turned around yelling at me walking backwards....and.....he stepped off the curb as a car was flying down the street....cops were in pursuit too...." Colt look emotionless

She smiles and hugs him tightly. "You can cry in front of me. I won't tell I promise."

He just sits there with a blank face "It was my fault.....If I didnt argue with him he'd be fine........"

She pulls back and places a hand on his lips. "Shhh. Benji doesn't need you being all mopey and blank right now. We can't change the past so let's look forward to and hope for the best in the future. It's not your fault. I promise you that Colt." She hugs him again.

Colt stands up and yells " YOU WERENT THERE!!! WE HAD A FIGHT AND I CALLED HIM A DUMB SON OF A BITCH, A STUPID ****ING ***HOLE THAT SHOULD JUST JUMP INTO THE TRAFFIC AND DIE ALREADY!!! YOU KNOW HOW IT FEELS WHEN SOMETHING YOU SAY TO SOMEONE HAPPENS??? I FEEL LIKE SHIT!!!" Colt throws his cell against the wall and storms off down the hall

She grabs his arm quickly and pulls him back to her. "Do you know what it's like to kill your own father?! Benji is in there dying! And all you wanna do is feel sorry for yourself?!"

Tears form into Colt's eyes "My best friend....is dyeing because....of me!!!" He begins to cry hard

"Shhh...come here..." She hugs him tightly. "You have to be strong. Be strong for Benji. He's not dead yet. Not by a long shot."

Colt cries for a few minutes then wipes his tears away "Dont tell benji or Dan that I cried ok?"

She smiles. "I won't." She turns and walks to Benji sitting down beside him and takes his hand.

Dan comes into the room and smiles "He's early, by about an hour lets start the operation people!" A few nurses come in and get benji ready for moving to the OR and then they head out to the OR, a nurse tells Yukima and Colt to wait in the waiting room.

Yukima follows them all the why to the door then turns walking into the waiting room and sits.

Colt walks into the waiting room a few minutes later with a large bottle of water and leans against the wall not even opening the bottle.

Yukima leans her head back and falls asleep exhausted.

Colt just stands there waiting for a few hours before he sits down and falls asleep himself. 6 hours pass before dan comes walking in and wakes Yukima up.

She looks up at him then slowly pulls herself up accidently leaning on her hurt arm again and whimpers in pain gripping her arm.

Dan grabs Yukima "Dont re-open the wound or you will be hospitalized for a few days till it heals properly. Benji will be resting for the next day or two, so you might as well go home for now and get some proper rest."

She shakes her head. "I'll stay with him. Can I go see him?"

Dan "He's currently asleep and wont be awake for at least a couple of days...." Colt wakes up

"How did the operation go?" She stands up and looks at Dan.

"We'll have to wait and see when he wakes up" Dan smiles and Colt gets up "What room is he in?" Dan" We moved him to room 231, better area of the hospital. Colt takes off suddenly and is gone.

Yukima smiles at Dan. "Don't look so nervous." She chuckles and pats his shoulder then turns and heads down the hall.

Dan goes off to somewhere else in the hospital.
Colt is standing in front of Benji's room staring at the door.

Yukima walks behind him and opens the door. "You're not gonna be much good for him out here." She walks inside and sits beside Benji gently taking his hand in hers.

Colt comes into the room and leans against the wall beside the bed.
Benji is sound asleep, with tubes still connected up to him, still on oxygen.
Colt "And he just got that cast off his leg too......"

She stares at Benji intently her gaze unwavering and replies. "Every break was clean. It'll heal quickly."

Colt "He will recover from this or I will kick his ass!" He chuckles and grins

She smiles softly and leans forward kissing Benji's forehead gently. "He'll be okay. He's strong."

Colt is now silent as he keeps leaning on the wall with the unopened bottle of water in his hand

They both say there for several hours and Yukima looks over at Colt. "Hungry?"
